What does the Merger of Efficiency First and CBPCA mean to our members?
The formation of Efficiency First California (EF-CA) provides a more united and effective voice for building performance companies, and the home performance industry as a whole, throughout California. Our staff and leadership are working hard to ensure that California’s energy efficiency policies and programs actually help grow our industry and better enable companies to retrofit homes under regulations that will provide for building safety, comfort and energy efficiency. It is the belief of EF-CA that the only viable and sustainable way this can happen is ensure that “the voice of the home performance contractor is an ongoing, integral part of strategic program design”.
Growth of Local Chapters.
Since the inception of Efficiency First in California in 2009, members have joined together to launch local chapters in the state. These include the SF North Bay (Sonoma County) and San Diego with strong local efforts in other areas such as Los Angeles and San Francisco. The EF-CA staff is working to provide the infrastructure and tools for support these local chapters and help in the development of additional chapters throughout the state. These chapters work on your behalf with local government and utility providers to ensure viable and sustainable home performance rules, regulations and code enforcement as well as provide a forum to work together on issues of common concern.
Member Benefits
Your membership dues not only provide you with direct individual benefits (link to EF benefits page) but, even more importantly, support the advocacy efforts, interests and goals of the home performance industry at the state level, but help to provide the support structure for local chapter efforts. Watch this newsletter and our website (www.efficiencyfirstca.org) for announcements of important new benefits for EF-CA members. Our goal is provide individual benefits which will support your business, personal growth and access to customers, but none of this would be possible without the input and support which you, as an EF-CA member provide. Over the ongoing process developing new benefits, we will be reaching out to you for your input.
Also, in the coming months watch this newsletter and the EF-CA website for reports and announcements of local and regional chapter activities, information on how you can get involved locally, updates on the ongoing EF-CA advocacy efforts and their results in the state of California.
